Customer Service Representative

 

Position Overview

The Customer Service Representative assists in the sales/marketing effort by processing orders, handling customer service issues, assisting with marketing administration and providing general administrative support to the sales staff as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the company in its sales/marketing efforts as phone contact in the absence of or as alternative to Strategic Account Manager, Senior Market Manager, Director of Global Business, Director of Business Development, or Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
  • Coordinate order and shipment information from customers and outside sales with internal functions; ensure the timely and accurate input of customer information into Salesforce or equivalent contact management database, and Sage 100.
  • Manage large customer order projects coordinating activities through engineering design, tooling engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and freight logistics as assigned.
  • Assist in the expediting of orders.
  • Assist Market Managers and Salespersons in the development of price quotations using cost and lead time estimates generated through the quotation process.
  • Organize and maintain customer file system. Record activities and communication in Salesforce.
  • Assist Marketing Director with administrative tasks such as lead tracking, reporting, trade show organization, promotional data compilation, etc.
  • Assist in generating monthly sales data from existing computer applications for review by Strategic Account Manager, Senior Market Manager, Director of Global Business, Director of Business Development, or Vice President of Sales and Business Development.
  • Report activity, progress to goals, and other pertinent market information at regular intervals to superior.
  • Occasional travel to customers for sales or installation assistance, or to promotional events.  
  • All other tasks as assigned by the manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  The manufacturing plant is open 24 x 7; Sunday – Friday.  Typical office hours are Monday through Friday; 8 hours/day, typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Travel

Occasional – 10%

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years’ experience in sales office environment
  • Ability to establish a rapport with customers
  • Ability to execute detail-oriented job function

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related curriculum or equivalent experience
  • Three years’ experience in sales office environment
  • Ability to establish rapport with customers
  • Ability to execute detail-oriented job function

Salary - $55,531 - $75,000

Reports to - Applications Engineering Manager

Blasch Precision Ceramics is located in Albany, NY, and produces unique precision refractory and ceramic shapes for many industrial markets. Blasch has proprietary processes which enable the manufacture of complex shapes not possible with other ceramic forming technologies.
