Facilities Maintenance Custodian
Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Custodian is responsible for maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plant 5S Projects
- Clean and disinfect all areas of all buildings including the break room, offices, restrooms, changing rooms and the plant floor.
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
- Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
- Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass and trim bushes, pick up trash, maintain common walkways and patio.
- Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Perform minor repairs on machinery, equipment and tools
- Clean and maintain restrooms including toilets, sinks, showers, etc.
- Wash and clean windows and mirrors
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Clean up spills
- Wipe tables, countertops and sinks and common areas
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- All other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 1st (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) 2nd (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) or 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:30 am). Occasional Saturday/Sunday hours may be required.
Travel
- International and domestic for customer interactions and/or training less than 10% of time
Required Education and Experience
- High school graduate or GED qualified.
- 2-3 years of cleaning/custodial/maintenance experience.
Reports to – Plant and Process Engineer
Wage Range – $15 – $16.50/hour
