Blasch Precision Ceramics, Inc., produces and markets net shape ceramic and refractory components to a wide variety of industrial markets worldwide.  These industries include specialty alloys, non-ferrous metals, chemical/petrochemical processing, power generation, industrial process heating and mining.

The proprietary Blasch Process is a unique, proprietary forming method developed to produce net shape and near net shape ceramic parts exhibiting very attractive physical properties.  Many of the products produced by Blasch have complex shapes that could not be produced with other existing ceramic technology.  As a result, several patents exist covering Blasch’s unique processes and technology.

Position Overview

The Accountant is responsible for general accounting for BPC and MBOG.  

All duties and responsibilities must be done with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.  Duties must be performed timely in accordance with the monthly calendar and with the goal of finalizing financial statements on time.

The Staff Accountant has access to highly sensitive data, and an extreme level of confidentiality is always expected.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Annual projects defined at the beginning of the fiscal year tied to year end incentive payments. 

  • Record fixed assets and associated depreciation, maintain subledgers that tie to general ledger

  • Payroll allocation to inventory work tickets- upload daily payroll to sage from Sage system and reconcile to daily timecard. 

  • Record daily materials used based on parts formed by production staff. 

  • Prepare monthly labor analysis report

  • Monitor open work order report

  • Prepare Sales Analysis by Salesperson report

  • Record monthly journal entries for incentives, commissions, depreciation and others assigned

  • Complete work order review, posting and invoicing for assigned work tickets and customers.    Reconcile monthly subledgers associated with each. – back up for all other work order, posting and invoicing

  • Participate in physical inventory cycle counts and reconciliation as well as monthly reconciliation to subledger. 

  • Research and report on low gross margin sales monthly

  • Other duties as assigned – this can include but is not limited to posting cash receipts, preparing and submitting government census reporting, payroll ancillary work (quarterly bonus sheets)

  • Various regulatory reporting as assigned.

  • Cross train in all other accounting functions to cover in team absences.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  The manufacturing plant is open 24 x 7; Sunday – Friday. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday; 8 hours/day, typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

  • 5 years of accounting experience

     

Salary Range: $70,000 – 80,000/year
